Proudly presented by the Ottawa Kayak School at Wilderness Tours\, this event is set to become an annual highlight for the Ottawa River paddling community. \nInspired by the success and popularity of the Movember Whitewater Classic\, organized by Matt Hamilton and Robyn Butler\, the Ottawa River Classic embraces the spirit of this iconic event while adding its own unique twist. This race is designed to bring together paddlers of all abilities for a fun\, competitive\, and community-driven day on the water. \nWhat is the Ottawa River Classic?\nThe Ottawa River Classic is a thrilling race down the Middle Channel of the Ottawa River. The course will be determined on the day of the race\, adding an element of surprise and adventure. In keeping with the traditions of the Movember Whitewater Classic\, the event will focus on team-based racing\, with participants racing in pairs. \nWhether you’re a seasoned paddler or a beginner\, this event offers a chance to compete in a fun and inclusive environment while supporting a great cause. 100% of the entry fees will be donated to the Whitewater Region Emergency Services\, making your participation even more impactful. \nRace Day Details\n\nDate: July 20\, 2025\nEntry Fee: $30 CAD (100% of the entry fee goes directly to Whitewater Region Emergency Services)\nRegistration: 10:00 AM at the Wilderness Tours Main Office\nShuttle Service: Group shuttles begin at 11:00 AM\nRace Start: 12:00 PM – Mass start above McCoy’s Chute\nRace Format: Teams of two (you must race with a partner)\nBoat Restrictions: None!
