UBC Built Local 93 Family River Day

Carpenters Union Local 93  has partnered with Wilderness Tours to host a day or weekend of fun on the Ottawa River. The full Wilderness Tours Resort is open to Local 93 members BY RESERVATION ONLY. Spots are limited (400 total capacity with 6 per family/Union ID). With participation and registration of one of the packages below you will also receive access to the Sports Court and beach Front.

The full Wilderness Tours Resort is open to Local 93 members including:

  • Stand Up Paddle Boards
  • Sit on Top Kayaks
  • Inflatable Water Park

Day Trip August 10th.  This package is covered by Local 93, please note system will ask for credit card info but there is no charge.

Book a lazy river tube trip & Resort Day at Wilderness Tours.  The tube trip is perfect for any one ages 3+.  Including any non swimmers.

  • Lazy  River Tubing Trip
  • BBQ Lunch
  • All waterfront facilities and onsite sport courts, lawn games and inflatable water park included

All guests welcome to additional a-la-cart meals, snacks and beverages at an additional cost.

Package 2 - High Adventure Rafting Trip (ages 13+)

This is an upgraded day trip on August 10th and subsidized by UBC Local 93 with a total discount of 55% off the regular rate.   Change from tubing to any trip you’d like to select on check out.  Pricing will be adjusted.

Package 4 - Full Weekend with Rafting (Resort Weekend ages 13+)

Arrival anytime after 4 pm on Friday, August 9th.

Package includes:

  • 1 Day Whitewater Rafting, you can choose between 12 man or 6 man rafting (limited space available)
  • 2 Nights Camping (tenting included) or RV Site (you must bring your own RV, extra charge for RV sites). Upgraded accommodations are available. You will be asked at check out.
  • 5 Meals Included – Breakfast Saturday through lunch Sunday .
  • All waterfront facilities and onsite sport courts, inflatable water park included

20 years ago, Algonquin College, after an exhaustive search, asked Wilderness Tours to be their exclusive delivery partner for their new 2-year diploma program in Outdoor Adventure. We were chosen because of our outdoor campus, facilities, and programs suitable for every age student, from college down to elementary. Swiftwater Rescue

Get comfortable in the whitewater environment with Swift Water Rescue Training. Participants can learn how to swim in Class I-III whitewater effectively with proper techniques in one of the world's best swiftwater classrooms.

Adjacent Wilderness Tours Outdoor Center is a large piece of Ottawa River Provincial Park. A loop trail takes you on a 2-3 Hour moderate hike along the rim of an ancient groge from the last ice age.

Our sports courts and games area are under the lights and next the main Rafters Pavilion. Group camp fires are available in this area or at alternate sites in the surrounding forest.

Cave Exploration Adventure

Explore this captivation series of caves walking-distance from our outdoor center. The melt waters of the end of the last ice age carved gorges that can be explored today. The caves are "pot holes" or "kettles" - a common erosion feature of whitewater gorges. The caves are enduring evidence when the Ottawa River had 10 times the flow putting the banks 70 feet higher than they are today!
