Protecting the Ottawa River

From the start, our mission at Wilderness Tours was clear: protect this river so it remains as pure and untamed. Since it's inception, the Wilderness Tours Land Trust has conserved more than 4,000 acres of shoreline, ensuring this landscape remains wild.

Our commitment extends beyond land. Our partnership with Algonquin College’s Outdoor Adventure Diploma Program, has helped shape the next generation of outdoor leaders, instilling the same respect, curiosity, and stewardship that this river has taught us.

The Ottawa River is more than river, it’s a classroom, a playground, and a legacy worth protecting. With your support, we can continue to safeguard its future.

A Network of Adventure

Wilderness Tours is proud to work alongside some of Canada’s most recognized adventure tourism operators and outdoor institutions, including Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours the only through the rapids of the Niagara River, Saute-Moutons Jet Boating the only tour through Lachine Rapids in Montreal, Mount St. Louis Moonstone, one of Ontario’s premier ski resorts, and Algonquin College's Outdoor Adventure Naturalist (ODA) program.

These organizations represent some of the most established adventure experiences in Eastern Canada. Through industry collaboration, training pathways, and shared promotion of outdoor recreation, these relationships help strengthen the broader adventure tourism sector across Ontario and Quebec.

Since 1975, Wilderness Tours has played a leading role in shaping whitewater rafting on the Ottawa River. Over that time, we have safely guided more than two million guests through the river’s world-class rapids while continuing to expand the adventure resort experience around it.

Today, Wilderness Tours remains one of Canada’s longest-operating and most recognized whitewater destinations. Our focus remains simple: deliver exceptional river experiences, support the next generation of outdoor professionals, and continue building strong partnerships that help grow adventure tourism across the country.
