Family Raft n Rod

This trip is an exciting mix of rafting and fishing. Float your way down a magical ride from Moon Lake to the National Whitewater Park Village. This trip rides the currents of the final rapids of the Main Channel just below Coliseum. Dog’ Leg, Black’s, and Heaven’s Half Mile are exciting but kid friendly rapids.

Once we hit shore at the Park Village we trade our paddles for rods and fish from a number of perfect shoreline locations. Our guides look after the kids so the parents can decide if they would prefer to relax at the beach or by the pavilion.

As an extra fun element of this trip we bring a number of SportYaks, which are ideal for the older kids and teens that allows you to experience the white water in a way that’s a little more “up close and personal!”

Our most popular family overnight package is called our Mini Vacation Package which has the Raft n’ Rod Program built into the package at a discount!  This can also be combined in our Raft n’ Rod Resort Package or a full 5 day Family Adventure Camp.

Gentle Family Rafting on the Ottawa River with Wilderness Tours

Family Rafting Day Trip

This trip is specifically for families with children between the ages of 5-12.

There are very few things parents and children can do together and both enjoy – whitewater rafting is one of them! How many times do you hear parents say “we do it for the children” or how many times do children think when their parents drag them through a museum “why can’t we go to the amusement park”? Well, you’ll get none of that on this trip. Even the history is presented to the kids in a fun way.

This exciting day features class 2 and 3 rapids (compared to class 4 and 5 on the High Adventure trip), body surfing, swimming from your own floating island, and a stop beside Garvin’s Chute, a beautiful 20 ft waterfall, classVl / rapid. Parents will be so proud of their children and children will think mom and dad are really cool.

Once you’ve reached the resort, the adventure continues on our beachfront. From swimming, to flat water kayaks and SUP boards there’s an adventure for everyone.

Looking to stay overnight? Consider our Family Mini Vacation Package or our Gentle Resort Package will be the perfect fit and save you $.
