River Positions
Are you ready to work hard with a great team to ensure a safe, exciting guest experience? Can you entertain guests in a courteous manner? Our guides are also punctual, neat in uniform and appearance and act in a professional manner at all times. All of our raft guides work both on and off river. In your first season you can expect 3-5 day trips/week and the remainder of your full-time hours will come from your off-river position.
Current CPR and First Aid Certification. Must have strong swimming ability. Must be friendly and outgoing and strong communication skills. Specific raft guiding experience is not essential, however, you must be able to demonstrate your leadership, attitude, teamwork, guest interaction and communication skills with examples from your experience. We conduct a guiding course every June for interested new guides.
As a kayak school instructor, you have substantial experience and instruction ability. You will instruct, organize and lead groups of students down class 1-3 white water on the Ottawa River. You will be responsible for managing your class, serving guests and creating a positive learning environment. We are looking for someone with exceptional guest service skills and technical river ability.
Requirements: This seasonal full-time position requires 3+ years of white water kayak experience. The right candidate will also possess confidence, leadership ability and the appropriate instructor certifications. Knowledge of the industry, client needs and river safety protocols are essential. The Keener Program is a youth leadership development program with a focus on advanced freestyle kayaking. As assistant coordinator you have extensive competitive and instruction white water kayaking experience. You will be responsible to coordinate activities, supervise instructors and students and provide leadership and kayak training and instruction. This is a seasonal full-time position starting in June.
Requirements: A strong whitewater instruction background is essential in a variety of areas including creeking, river-running, freestyle and competition. A strong instruction background of at least 2 years is also required. You must be able to lead a group, make decisions and plan activities. Wilderness Tours and Ottawa Kayak School requires a competent whitewater kayaker and photographer. This role involves setting up, taking photos, adjusting/editing and selling action shots of guests rafting, kayaking and enjoying our facilities. Staff will be using an extensive range of technical equipment, including digital SLR cameras, lenses and photo-developing and video editing equipment. Will be trained on editing videos using templates in Final Cut Pro. Timely development and display of printed and digital photos and videos are essential. Troubleshoot digital media hardware and software. Report any and all technical difficulties or malfunctions to a supervisor or manager. Develop expertise with photo/video hardware and software to produce high quality digital media.
Requirements: As an intermediate kayaker, you understand the sport, can anticipate angles, moves, conditions and water levels. You must have an understanding of both the competitive culture, river dynamics, shot staging and the Ottawa River rapids and playspots. Outdoor photo experience is a must; be prepared to provide examples of your work. Someone who works well under time deadlines and who can work independently will excel in this role. Non River Positions / Resort Positions

To Cash-Out servers, run reports on machines and responsible for cash outs. To work closely with servers, maintain excellent services & ensuring our guests are treated well. To ensure the dining room & washrooms are clean at all times & to ensure the maintenance schedule is followed. Relate any problems to the Food & Beverage Manager

Prepare room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils. Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies. Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef’s specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions. Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc. Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices; identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests. Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression. Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

We are looking for a full time Nanny to provide excellent childcare to our Operation Manager’s Infant. As a
Nanny you’ll take care of the infant, keep them safe and clean, help with meals and organize creative and
educational activities based on age. At times you will be responsible to up to 3-4 children all under the age of
4. You will spend a mix between time at the WT resort and the families’ homes. If you love working and playing
with infants and young children and feel comfortable handing the less appealing tasks such as changing diapers
and cleaning, we’d like to meet you.
